Leak ST130 Amplifier (Silver)

The LEAK STEREO 130 is high performance, high-fidelity integrated amplifier for the modern-day audio enthusiast. It is designed to be the perfect match to a wide variety of both analogue and digital sources, thanks to its diversity of inputs. It has a built-in Moving Magnet (MM) phono pre-amplifier which allows for direct connection to turntable record players. You can also stream music to the LEAK STEREO 130 from any Bluetooth device such as portable music players and smartphones via innovative built-in aptX and AAC codec. One can enjoy CD-quality audio over the Bluetooth wireless connection.

To accommodate the modern-day music enthusiast fully, much effort has been made to ensure the LEAK STEREO 130 ’s digital circuitry delivers the level of quality one might expect of a high-performance standalone D/A converter, let alone an integrated amplifier solution.

Carefully designed in line with the LEAK ethos of performance, reliability and craftsmanship, the LEAK STEREO 130 matches contemporary performance with stand-out, classic LEAK styling.

TURNTABLE READY

Traditional audiophiles will recognise the assured quality in the high-quality, low-noise turntable input of the LEAK STEREO 130. Optimised for moving magnet cartridges, the JFET-based circuit offers precise RIAA equalisation in accordance with de facto industry standards for vinyl record playback.

HEADPHONE USERS:

The LEAK STEREO 130 uses a dedicated amplifier circuit with current-feedback technology for the headphones output. Equal in performance to standalone headphone amplifiers, beyond the price-class of this complete system, the design offers high-speed output signal transition thanks to a high slew rate. The result is a dynamic, detailed and engaging performance with all manner of headphone types.

CONVERSION WITHOUT COMPROMISE:

Utilising the acclaimed ES9018 Sabre32 Reference chip with ESS Technology’s 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the LEAK STEREO 130 offers ultra-low noise, high dynamic range of digital audio files with a sampling rate of up to 384kHz (PCM) and DSD256.

DIRECT AND TONE CONTROL:

The LEAK STEREO 130 incorporates LEAK ’s signature DIRECT switch to bypass steps in the analogue circuitry, for the purest signal path. In addition, the signature BASS and TREBLE tone controls allow for customisation of the amplifier output signal to suit your music medium and matched electronics or loudspeakers.

MUSIC ENTHUSIAST AS ITS HEART:

The LEAK STEREO 130 ’s all round performance is engaging, detailed and refined. Detail, timing and dynamics excel, regardless of source or medium. Designed for the modern-day music enthusiast with a nod to our heritage, the LEAK STEREO 130 does not discriminate when it comes to expression and enjoyment of your music reproduction.

Leak CDT (Silver)

For the first time in the history of LEAK, it is possible for the audio enthusiast to enjoy CD and digital media playback.

The LEAK CDT offers the highest available standard of sound reproduction from CD playback within this price class. It is also equipped with USB storage device playback functionality.

The LEAK CDT utilizes an ultra-smooth slot-loading mechanism that exudes quality and reliability.

The CD transport is carefully mounted within its own electromagnetically shielded enclosure and is provided with a dedicated power supply. The digital clock is controlled by a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator that makes sure the digital output from both the coaxial and optical sockets has minimum digital distortion, thus the digital signal extraction is exceptionally precise.

The USB storage device playback functionality offers full transport controls and folder / file navigation. The LEAK CDT is compatible with FAT16 and FAT32 formatted devices and will playback media in the format of WMA, MP3, WAV and AAC.

Carefully designed in line with the LEAK ethos of performance, reliability and craftsmanship, the LEAK CDT satisfies contemporary audio enthusiast demands with stand-out, classic LEAK styling.

ONE STEP AHEAD:

The premium CD mechanism uses read ahead buffering to reduce disc read errors and deliver the highest level of digital signal extraction from CD media

ACCURACY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ENTHUSIAST:

A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator controls the master clock. This enables the digital only output to provide incredibly low digital distortion (also referred to as ‘jitter’). This low jitter output offers superior performance when compared to like-for-like players.

EXCELLENCE IN ISOLATION:

The LEAK CDT shields the CD mechanism from electrical interference, thus ensuring purity of signal. Such incremental benefits further enhance the performance for the audio enthusiast.

DISC OR DISK? EITHER, OR:

The modern audio enthusiast will enjoy music in many formats due to the convenience and modern day quality of digital files. The LEAK CDT facilitates your digital audio collection with digital file playback from USB storage devices. The LEAK CDT will play CD, CD-R, CD-RW discs as well as .WAV, .MP3* .WMA* and .AAC* digital audio files via USB. *up to 48kHz, 320kpsA

TIMELESS DESIGN:

Matching the classic art-deco inspired, traditional, LEAK industrial design, the LEAK CDT echoes a long-lost legacy in home audio, with stunning aesthetics.

Wharfedale Linton Loudspeakers (Mahogany) + Speaker Stands (Mahogany)

To celebrate its history, Wharfedale has established the Heritage Series recreations of famous models from its past, entirely re-engineered using contemporary techniques and materials. The latest loudspeaker to join this collection is the Linton.

The original Linton debuted in 1965 and the line continued in various iterations until the end of the 1970s. It was a classic model of its time, viewed as a serious hi-fi speaker but also relatively affordable. Its cabinet was substantial, big enough to hold three drive units including a good-sized bass unit, yet not overly unwieldy by the standards of the day.

The new Linton has a clear family resemblance. It, too, is a three-way standmount model – a rarity in the modern era – retaining similar proportions to the classic Linton models. Its wood-veneered cabinet has a vintage look, yet the standard of finish is distinctly contemporary.

Retro style, timeless musicality

The Linton makes use of its wide baffle by incorporating a large (by modern standards) bass driver with a 200mm Kevlar cone, mounted on a rigid, die-cast chassis. Above this sits a 135mm midrange driver, also sporting a woven Kevlar cone and housed within its own internal enclosure. Finally, a 25mm fabric-dome tweeter with a high-flux ferrite magnet handles high frequencies.

The original Linton incarnations of the 1960s and 1970s were well known for their rich and natural sound quality; the new model retains these attributes but upgrades the performance in every department. Its bass is deep and well-defined, its midrange clear and open, with free-breathing dynamics and an expansive scale that brings music to life. It is a sound you can dive into and lose yourself in, as you listen to album after album; a nostalgic nod to the past elevated to a level fit for the future.

Designed to appeal

This is a speaker that exudes authenticity, designed to appeal to the dedicated music-lover.

In keeping with a design intended to be treasured, the new Linton sports hand-matched wood veneers and optional matching stands with a similarly classic style. Custom-made to ensure each speaker is sited at the perfect height for a seated listener, the stand’s rigid metal frame ensures critical damping of unwanted vibrations, embellished with wood-veneered panels at the top and bottom to complement the speakers. The design even provides space to store vinyl records within the stand’s structure.

Back in Black

Now available in a new contemporary Black Oak finish; the Wharfedale LINTON represents one of the most iconic models in the long history of Wharfedale loudspeakers. A model that embodied the Wharfedale pioneering research through the 60s, 70s and 80s, with a bloodline dating back to 1965, LINTON has always been manufactured according to the Wharfedale principles of quality and value for money.
